Leave food out and it will attract flies. That is exactly the point at Florala. Florala has a nice little buffet in the FBO designed to attract fliers from Ft. Rucker and it seems to be working! There is a constant stream of helicopter traffic and they have a ramp just for them. It isn't a big buffet but it is pretty tasty. When I was there they had three different kinds of BBQ. Wakulla County, Fl / Wakulla County Airport / 2J0
Wakulla County Airport (2J0) is a 4,000' grass strip just up the coast from Apalachicola. There are some simple hangars near mid-field but it doesn't look like there are any tie-downs or even a designated area for transient aircraft. I recommend going ahead and taxiing to the north end of the runway and park near the restaurant. Dauphin Island / Jeremiah Denton / 4R9
4R9 is a small airport on Dauphin Island on the Alabama coast. It is a pretty sleepy place but there are several interesting places within walking distance of the airport.
I flew out of KDTS and it was an easy route along the coast. It was just under an hour in the old, tired Cessna 172 I was flying. The Blue Angels had a TFR at Pensacola Beach but PNS approach vectored me over KPNS so no harm no foul. Apalachicola Regional Airport (AAF) is located close to the quaint town of Apalachicola, a good spot for oysters. Unfortunately downtown Apalachicola isn't within easy walking distance. They do have a courtesy car but it is fairly popular and may not be available when you arrive. Tipsy McFly's in Brunswick is reported to be a cute restaurant and bar in the airport terminal. NO NEED TO GO THROUGH TSA to get to the restaurant. Locally operated mom pop place.

Cedar Key, Florida / George T Lewis Airport / CDK
Cedar Key (CDK) is a favorite fly-in spot that is alleged to have the shortest paved runway in Florida (2355 feet). Regardless, lots of coastal eateries in the airport vicinity. Crestview has a nifty little cafe right next to the FBO, the Stick & Rudder Pub. From the ramp side there is no sign so you’ve kind of gotta know it is there. They have a good menu and stuff is cooked by guys wearing chef’s outfits. Go figure! Fairhope, AL / Callahan / CQF
CQF is near some high class venues. High end the Sunday jazz brunch at the Grand Hotel in Fairhope can't be beat...great FBO with a nice courtesy car and the$50 buffet is unparalleled anywhere on the Gulf Coast.

Peach State Aerodrome (GA2) features the Barnstormers Grill. This looks like a cool restaurant on a cool little airport. Barnstormers Grill is open Tuesday through Thursday 11:30 - 9:00. Lulu's Restaurant is 2 blocks outside of the airport. Lambert's Thrown Rolls Restaurant will come pick you up at the airport. Monroeville (MVC) now features a breakfast and lunch buffet every day. The buffet is free if you buy gas. They told me the buffet is very popular with all the military flyers in the area.
